The Tale of Genji was written by a Japanese Court Lady, Murasaki Shikibu in the Heian period, about 1000 years ago. Claimed by many to be the world's first modern novel and Japanese finest. It has inspired countless artist to make woodblock prints, paintings and Japanese style screens, Byobu's.

Japan's four seasons

It’s been almost a year since I moved from New York Cit to Aizu (Fukushima, Japan). New York is one of the biggest cities in the world, a city that has so many historically and architecturally famous buildings. Aizu, on the other hand, is located in the north part of Japan and surrounded by mountains. I took pictures of nature in Aizu through the four seasons, pictures of experiences and feelings one could never have in NYC. It is impossible to express the real beauty of nature only through pictures; however, I hope you can enjoy the beauty of Japan’s four seasons through this photo book.
